Spread The Love – Food Drive in HKMU Campaign

The Lunar New Year is approaching, while we are eating delicious food and celebrating the festive season with family and friends, there are more than one million poor people in Hong Kong striving for nutritious meals every day. Have you ever thought that you can share your love and bring a different Lunar New Year to poor families?

The Student Affairs Office is excited to launch the Spread The Love – Food Drive in HKMU Campaign to promote food-wise culture in the HKMU community and bridge the gap between food waste and hunger. Our student volunteers will collect food and anti-epidemic supplies and donate to the needy and grassroots families through taking part in the Mobile Food Pantry Service by Feeding Hong Kong (NGO) in February 2023.

The collection of food and anti-epidemic supplies will be held from 16 to 19 January 2023. You may also choose to participate in the campaign through cash donations. The amount of donations varies, and subject to your preference. All the donations raised will be donated to the Feeding Hong Kong for the purchase of Lunar New Year food packs for grassroots families. Each Lunar New Year food pack is worth $160, including festive food items like rice, Chinese sausages, cooking oil, mushrooms, red dates and canned food etc.

Join us to give your helping hands to people in needs! Every donation counts and would be greatly appreciated!
