The application period is from 10 January 2025 to 9 February, 2025 (23:59). Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a group interview in February.

If you are shortlisted, you will be invited for an interview via phone call and email. The interview will be conducted as a group discussion about climate change. You will be asked to share your views on climate change with other applicants. Before the commencement of the training, we will notify the successful applicants for the training.

Although we are delighted to see HKMU students aspiring to promote climate action, we cannot accommodate every applicant in the course due to the student-teacher ratio. Even if you are not selected to join our training, you are welcome to stay informed about our activities on climate action and be part of the movement advocating for climate change action at HKMU and in Hong Kong.

Participants can gain valuable and relevant skills:

  • To understand the international conventions, agreements, multilateral organizations, on climate change and related major environmental and social issues. Especially, the course will cover Paris Agreement, UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • To master the tools and frameworks to influence pressing global issues on climate change and sustainability
  • To learn how to implement an advocacy campaign on climate issues and improve the ability to plan and execute the campaign
  • To make your voice heard in international forums and local community

In-person training would be our prior training style.

We encourage participants to attend all scheduled training sessions within approximately 5 months training period. A certificate of participation will be awarded to participants with 80% of participation in all modules.

Students are required to initiate a community climate advocacy project during the training by applying knowledge and skills they have learnt in the training. Besides, to promote climate actions in HKMU / Hong Kong, we highly encourage students to continue their advocacy projects or work after the training. Moreover, outstanding students would be selected to attend international climate conference(s). They will be given chances to work with youths around the world, and make their voices heard on the local, national, regional and international climate topics.
