The SA programme has provided me with many rewarding experiences. One of the most unforgettable experiences was being the emcee at the HKMU Employer Networking Event 2022, which hosted over 100 industry partners of the University. It was a great opportunity for me to build up my confidence and improve my communication skills.
Joining the SA program has been one of the best decisions I have made at HKMU. Throughout my service period, I have been inspired by individuals from various backgrounds, including my schoolmates and external speakers. As one of the emcees for the Networking Dinner Event, I stepped out of my comfort zone and tackled challenges one by one. I believe this experience is a good preparation for me in my future workplace.
As an SA, I have had the privilege of interacting with international students and visitors, fostering cultural exchange and understanding. These experiences have broadened my horizons, deepened my appreciation for diversity, and instilled a sense of global citizenship. By embracing different perspectives and experiences, I have become more open-minded, adaptable, and empathetic—a crucial skill set in an increasingly interconnected world.
One of the most significant benefits of being an SA was the opportunity to make new friends and build a strong social circle. The relationships I have formed with other SA members will stay with me for a lifetime, and I am grateful for the experiences we shared together.
The Student Ambassador (SA) Programme aims at recruiting passionate students to represent the University in important events and promote the University to others; while at the same time developing students' interpersonal skills, leadership skills and career readiness.
Professional training workshops will be given to SAs. Those with satisfactory performance will be nominated for diversified signature career development programmes, overseas study tours and internships.
SAs play a key role in supporting various University events, career development activities and students recruitment exercises, including but not limited to official ceremonies, career activities, campus tours, admission talks, orientation days and VIP guest visits;
A complimentary set of professional attire: business suit and HKMU scarf/tie and pin;
A personalized SA name badge;
With preference to different signature career development programmes, overseas study tours and internships;
A series of training workshops to enhance your interpersonal and leadership skills; and
A certificate of appreciation for services upon the completion of appointment with satisfactory performance.
