Empowering Innovation Nurturing Entrepreneur

HKMU is proud to launch a HK$50 million Startup Fund in 2024, dedicated to supporting students, alumni, and academic/R&D staff in transforming bold ideas into impactful ventures. This initiative provides comprehensive support across all stages of the startup journey—from ideation to acceleration.

HKMU offers four strategic Programmes to meet the evolving needs of aspiring entrepreneurs:

  • HKMU Hackathon: A fast-paced, 2-day innovation challenge that brings together cross-disciplinary student teams to co-create solutions for real-world problems. Ideal for those taking their first step into entrepreneurship.
  • HKMU MetroChallenge Programme: Designed for early-stage entrepreneurs with a viable concept. Participants receive up to HK$100,000 in implementation funding to develop and validate their ideas.
  • Incubation Programme: For startups ready to build and launch. This programme offers HK$250,000 in performance-based grants, one-year incubation support, structured training, and expert mentorship.
  • Angel Fund Programme: Targeted at high-potential startups seeking to scale. Selected ventures can access up to HK$1 million in investment, along with strategic resources, funding, and investor network connections.
