There are two main forms of assessment for University's courses:\u00a0 continuous assessment and examinations.<\/p>

The assessment criteria may include any one or any combination of the following:\u00a0 assignments (in the form of essays, questions requiring short answers, multiple choice, etc.), quizzes, tests, projects, laboratory sessions, practicum, attendance, compulsory day schools, examinations, and any other criteria.\u00a0 Full details of the course assessment will be given to you by your course coordinator\/course teacher, or in your course materials\/course guide.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Assignments should be submitted by specified dates according to the instructions of the course coordinator concerned.\u00a0 All assignments must be submitted electronically via the OLE, unless otherwise specified.\u00a0<\/p>

If assignment is submitted late, the teacher concerned has the discretion to accept it or not, and to determine the penalty to the imposed, if any.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

You can go to\u00a0MyHKMU<\/a>\u00a0of the HKMU website (Current Students) and refer to the section on ‘Assessment Results’ to check your individual assignment scores.\u00a0 Your overall continuous assessment score will normally be available one week before the respective examination period.\u00a0<\/p>

The University expects that students will act at all times to uphold academic integrity which is a requisite for effective learning and sound scholarship.\u00a0 We cannot accept for assessment purposes work which has been written in collaboration with others.<\/strong>\u00a0 When you work on your assignment, you are required to work alone. You must not send in other people’s work, either in its entirety or in part, and claim it as your own.<\/p>

In the same way, students are encouraged to show the results of their reading by referring to and quoting from works on the subject. However, copying from such sources without acknowledgement is\u00a0plagiarism<\/strong>\u00a0and is not acceptable. To copy deliberately from a printed work or from any other source and to claim it as your own is a form of cheating.\u00a0 Cheating, or attempting to cheat, is a serious offence and will be punished.<\/strong><\/p>
