Application for Advanced Standing<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

HKMU students who have registered for one credit-bearing course and successfully admitted to the respective postgraduate programme are eligible to apply for advanced standing.<\/p>

You are required to:<\/p>

  1. read carefully the\u00a0Guide to Application for Advanced Standing<\/a><\/em>;<\/li>
  2. complete the application\u00a0Form A-AP<\/a> in accordance with instructions;<\/li>
  3. pay an application fee;<\/li>
  4. submit required copies of certificates and transcripts in the manner as specified (refer to Section L5 of the\u00a0Guide to Application for Advanced Standing<\/a><\/em>;<\/li>
  5. submit required syllabus information (refer to Section H3 of the\u00a0Guide to Application for Advanced Standing<\/a><\/em>.<\/li><\/ol>

    The University may not be able to process an application if the required documentation and syllabus information are not available.<\/p>

    Application Fee<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

    Current application fees are valid up to 31 August 2025 are as follows:<\/p>

    SCT<\/p><\/td>

    HK$3,405 for an application of 1 to 3 courses, thereafter HK$1,135 for every 3 additional courses, i.e. HK$4,540 for an application of 4 to 6 courses and HK$5,675 for 7 to 9 courses, and so on.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

    BCT<\/p><\/td>

    HK$4,535 per application<\/span><\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

    Application Fee<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

    The application fees will be revised from 1 September 2025. The new fees are as follows:<\/p>

    SCT<\/p><\/td>

    HK$3,480 for an application of 1 to 3 courses, thereafter HK$1,160 for every 3 additional courses, i.e. HK$4,640 for an application of 4 to 6 courses and HK$5,800 for 7 to 9 courses, and so on.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

    BCT<\/p><\/td>

    HK$4,640 per application<\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

    Applicants are required to pay the new fees if the applications are received on or after 1 September 2025.\u00a0 For applications sent in by mail, the cut-off date will be determined in accordance with the postmark.<\/p>

    All paid application fees are non-refundable.<\/strong><\/p>

    Submitting an application<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

    Step 1<\/p><\/td>

    Send the completed form together with required copies of certificates, transcripts and syllabus information as specified to the following address:<\/p>

    Advanced Standing and Graduation Team, Registry, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Room A0511, 30 Good Shepherd Street, Ho Man Tin, Kowloon.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

    Step 2<\/p><\/td>

    After we have received your application form with the necessary documents and information, we will initially check whether the documents and information are in order.\u00a0 We will then notify you regarding the application fee that you are required to pay and the payment method via email.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

    Step 3<\/p><\/td>

    Use the “payment link” provided in the email to settle the application fee by credit card (VISA\/Mastercard) or UnionPay. Save a copy of the payment record for your reference and notify the University via email with the relevant payment record to confirm your successful payment.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

    (Please note that during the processing of a case, the University may still contact an applicant for additional information necessary for processing of the application.)<\/p>

    Approval<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

    Advanced standing applications will be processed by the University after all the required documentation and syllabus information is received.
