This guide outlines how to use the OCR-Image Reader to capture, convert, and refine text from images directly within your browser.
Install OCR-Image Reader Chrome Extension

| b. | Click Add to Chrome and then Add extension to install the extension; |
| c. | Click the puzzle piece icon in the top-right corner of your browser after installation; |
| d. | Find OCR-Image Reader in the list and click the pin icon to keep it visible on your toolbar. |
Capture and Convert Images to Text
| a. | Click the OCR - Image Reader icon on your browser's toolbar to activate the tool; |
| b. | Select the region of the webpage containing the text by mouse(Note: The extension will display a progress bar as the optical character recognition (OCR) can be slow, especially on the first use while it fetches training data); |
| c. | Select the source language of the text from the left dropdown menu; |
| d. | Select the accuracy of the recognition from the right dropdown menu; |
| e. | Click the Copy Text button to copy the recognised text to the clipboard; |
| f. | Click the Close button to exit. |
Improve Accuracy on Difficult Text
| a. | Take a screenshot of the text area if the initial extraction is not accurate; |
| b. | Open the screenshot in a basic image editor and adjust the contrast or brightness; |
| c. | Select the accuracy of the recognition to be Best Accuracy; |
| d. | Drop the edited image file directly into the extension's interface to retry the OCR process. |
Work with Different Languages
