On March 31, 2026, the HKMU School of Open Learning QESS project team held an “AI Empowered Learning” workshop at Chu Hai College, attracting around 60 students and faculty members. The event showed how AI can make learning simpler, more engaging, and more accessible.
The workshop explored practical uses of AI in education, featuring tools such as Elicit for knowledge synthesis, PDFgear for document chat, Brisk Teaching for personalized feedback, Suno for AI media creation, and OpenMAIC for workflow automation.
The team also introduced the QESS project and demonstrated its customized tools, including a Term-Based Translator, Cross-Region Chinese Converter, Multilingual Podcast Generator, and AI-powered PPT-to-Video Converter.
Through hands-on experience, participants gained useful insights into applying AI in learning and teaching. Feedback was highly positive, with attendees valuing the QESS project's rich AI toolset and practical support for everyday educational needs.
