    This guide outlines how to use PDFgear to edit, convert, and perform OCR on PDF documents, as well as utilise the integrated AI Copilot for document analysis. (Reference Version: 2.1.12)

    Download and Install PDFgear

    a. Navigate to the website: www.pdfgear.com;
    b. Select the installer version that matches your operating system;
    c. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation;
    d. Launch the PDFgear software.

    Edit PDF Documents

    a. Click the Open File button to open a PDF;
    b. Click the Edit tab in the top toolbar (Note: The Edit tab also has functions for adding links, watermarks, page numbers, headers & footers, stamps, and signatures);
    c. Click Edit Text to modify the text directly within the PDF;
    d. Click Edit > Add Image, select a local image, and place it in the PDF;
    e. Double-click an image to move, resize, or replace it;
    f. Click Edit > Signature, create a signature, click OK, and place it in the PDF;
    g. Click the Comment tab in the top toolbar (Note: The Comment tab has functions for highlighting, underlining, strikethrough, area highlight, inserting shapes, and filling out forms);
    h. Click the Page tab in the top toolbar (Note: The Page tab has functions for adding new pages, extracting pages, deleting pages, inserting pages, cropping pages, and rotating pages);
    i. Click the Form tab in the top toolbar;
    j. Click the Save button in the top-left corner.

    Perform OCR on PDF Documents

    a. Open a PDF document;
    b. Click Home > OCR, select an area in the PDF, and click Done;
    c. Click Copy text to clipboard to copy the result or click Save to export it as a TXT file.

    Format Conversion

    a. Click Tools > Convert in the top toolbar;
    b. Select a target format from the dropdown list (Note: Supports conversions between PDF to DOCX, XLSX, PPT, PNG, JPEG, TXT, HTML, RTF, and XML);
    c. Set the Output Path in the pop-up window;
    d. Tick the OCR field to extract text from images (Note: The software supports batch conversion, allowing for the processing of multiple files at once);
    e. Click the Convert button to begin the conversion;
    f. Find the converted file in the specified path.

    PDFgear Copilot

    a. Open a PDF document;
    b. Click the red PDFgear Copilot button on the bottom-right panel;
    c. Enter your questions or select an auto-suggested prompt in the text field;
    d. Click the Send button;
    e. Continue the conversation to gain deeper insights into the document;
    f. Select the AI's response and click the copy icon to copy the content.
