This guide outlines using Doubao to interact with documents via chat, generate AI-powered podcasts and images, and create and edit long-form content. (Access Date: 18 July 2025)
Access the Doubao Website
| a. | Navigate to the website: https://www.doubao.com/chat/; |
| b. | Click the 登錄 (Login) button to sign in or create an account with phone numbers from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan regions. |
Chat with File
| a. | Click + 新對話 (+ New Chat) in the left panel to start a new chat; |
| b. | Enter the prompt in the input field; |
| c. | Click the 深度思考：自動 (DeepThink: Auto) button to enable auto DeepThink; |
| d. | Click the paperclip icon at the bottom-left of the input field to upload a file (Note: A maximum of 50 documents or 10 images is supported, and supported file types include: PDF, TXT, CSV, DOCX, DOC, XLSX, XLS, PPTX, PPT, MOBI, EPUB, PNG, JPEG, JPG, and WEBP); |
| e. | Click the Send button to send a query; |
| f. | Select the response and press CTRL+C to copy; |
| g. | Press CTRL+V to paste the response where required; |
| h. | Enter further queries in the text field and click the Send button. |
Generate AI Podcast
| a. | Click + 新對話 (+ New Chat) in the left panel to start a new chat; |
| b. | Click 上傳文件 (Upload File) to upload a PDF document, or click 網頁鏈接 (Web Link) to enter a webpage URL (Note: The webpage must contain meaningful text content); |
| c. | Click 更多 (More) > AI 播客 (AI Podcast) to create a podcast; |
| d. | Click the 生成播客 (Generate Podcast) button; |
| e. | Click the Play button to listen to the podcast; |
| f. | Click the Download button to save the podcast. |
Edit Content with File Editor
| a. | Click 幫我寫作 (Help Me Write) in the left panel and select a prompt template, for example, 長文寫作 (Long Text Writing); |
| b. | Edit the prompt template and click the Send button; |
| c. | Click the 文檔編輯器 (File Editor) button to enable direct editing in a document editor; |
| d. | View the generated outline of the article, then click the 基於大綱生成 (Generate with This Outline) button to generate the full article; |
| e. | Edit the article directly in the document editor; |
| f. | Click 複製 (Copy) or 下載 (Download) at the top-right corner to export the result. |
Generate AI Images
| a. | Click 圖像生成 (Generate Image) in the left panel and input AI drawing instructions in the dialogue box; |
| b. | Click the 參考圖 (Reference Image) button to upload an image (Note: Supported image formats include: PNG, JPEG, JPG, and WEBP); |
| c. | Click the 比例 (Ratio) button to specify the image ratio (Note: Supported ratios include: 1:1, 2:3, 4:3, 9:16, and 16:9); |
| d. | Click the 風格 (Style) button to select a built-in drawing style; |
| e. | Click the Send button to start image generation; |
| f. | Select a generated image and click the 再次生成 (Re-generate) button to generate the image again; |
| g. | Select a generated image and click the 下載 (Download) button to save the artwork. |
