The Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit 2025 (GIES 2025) was held from 20 to 23 November 2025 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event was jointly hosted by the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. At the booth organised by the School of Nursing and Health Sciences of Hong Kong Metropolitan University, more than 800 participants engaged in health screenings and received valuable health-related insights. One of the highlights of the booth was the Alpha System, an innovative exergaming platform designed to promote seated Tai Chi. Visitors also had the opportunity to experience the Seated Tai Chi Exergaming System, which seamlessly integrates physical activity with interactive gaming. The Sports Carnival and Health Event was held on 15 November 2025 at Kowloon True Light School. At the booth organised by the Exergaming Research Center of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, more than 200 participants, including students and parents, experienced the Seated Tai Chi Exergaming System, an innovative platform that seamlessly integrates physical activity with interactive gaming. Through this system, participants learned Tai Chi movements in a fun and engaging way while enjoying the benefits of exercise. The HKMU School of Nursing and Health Sciences (N&HS) hosted the \u201cHKMU Health Expo\u201d on 12 October 2025 at Kowloon City Plaza, drawing an enthusiastic crowd and fostering community engagement. The N&HS staff and students conducted health assessments for over 200 elderly individuals from partner nursing homes, as well as residents of Kowloon City.\u00a0 In addition to the assessments, the expo featured interactive health talks and educational activities designed to raise awareness about healthy aging. Attendees were encouraged to adopt healthier lifestyles through practical advice and engaging demonstrations.<\/h5>\n
One of the highlights of the event was the \u201cTai Chi gaming booth (\u592a\u6975\u9ad4\u611f\u8a13\u7df4)\u201d, organized by the Exergaming Research Centre for Healthy Aging.
