Kowloon City District Office, District Council and Community Leaders visited IOH, HKMU

We would like to express our gratitude to Ms Alice CHOI Man-kwan, District Officer of Kowloon City District Office, Kowloon City District Councillors, the Area Committee (Ho Man Tin), and the Sub-district Care Team (Ho Man Tin) for visiting IOH, HKMU.
 
During this visit, we introduced the school’s facilities for applied science education. As Hong Kong’s first University of Applied Sciences, HKMU will continue to cultivate talents and promote continuous industry and social development through the application of innovative technologies and equipment, working collaboratively with the District Office, District Council, Area Committees, and the Care Team, to create a healthier community in Kowloon City.

Visit by the Hospital Authority on 5 October 2023

The Chief Executive of Hospital Authority, Dr Tony Ko, together with Director (Cluster Services) Dr Simon Tang, Head of Corporate Services, Mr Andy Lau, Chief Manager (Nursing) Dr Danny Tong, and Chairman, Dr Peter Lee and Member Ms Wendy Fung of HKMU Foundation Advisory Committee visited the School of Nursing and Health Studies on 5 October 2023 to exchange ideas about the recent development of health education for nursing professionals in Hong Kong. They have toured around the advanced teaching and learning facilities at Jockey Club Institute of Healthcare.

Sharing Knowledge: A visit by King’s College London Experts

Guests from the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care of King’s College London, Prof. Ruth Harris, Professor of Healthcare for Older Adults, and Dr. Mary Leamy, Associate Dean (Postgraduate Research Studies) & Senior Lecturer in Mental Health, visited our School on 27 July 2023 to promote academic exchange and collaborations between our institutions.

Our School welcomed the guests, who attended two tours led by our Virtual Reality Education Unit and Clinical Simulation Education Unit. In the research seminar, they shared their research experience and expertise in Realist Evaluation with our academic colleagues. All participants were pleased to have the opportunity to meet with Prof. Ruth Harris and Dr. Mary Leamy and were inspired by their sharing.
