Details:
Four novels created by the students of the Reading and Writing Stories course, namely Fung Kwok-pan, Wong Sze-lam, Xie Yifan and Yip Tsz-sin, were published in a well-known local literary magazine Hong Kong Literature Bimonthly. The recommendation written by their tutor Dr Rebecca Leung Mo-ling was also published in the same issue. The four pieces included absurdist fiction, rural fiction and female writing fiction. Some of the works even incorporated the techniques of stream of consciousness and Shinkankakuha.

Through the memories of the protagonist and her recent life, “Town v.s. City (鄉城)” depicts the contrast between the hometown and the city, illustrating a strong connection of emotional exchange between the place and the people. “Pignarok (豬神黃昏)” reflects society’s standard of beauty towards one’s appearance and body shape, satirizing the distorted values nowadays. “Ah Mei (阿薇)” portrays the relationship between a mother, Ah Mei and the protagonist, showing the thoughts, experiences and feelings of women. From the perspective of a middle-aged woman who suffers from cancer and has just lost her mother, “A last letter to Tai Po (給大埔的遺書)” recounts her feelings of revisiting the old places. The scenery painted a picture of old Hong Kong.
