A delegation led by Professor Dr. Amon Murwira, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe, visited the Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education of the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU LiPACE). Also in the visiting group are the Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to China, Abigail Shoniwa, and the Consul General of Zimbabwe in HK, Mr. Ellias Mutamba. The group was received by President Prof. Paul LAM Kwan-sing, Provost Prof. Reggie KWAN Ching-ping and Dean of LiPACE, Dr Benjamin CHAN Tak-yuen. The highlight of the Minister’s visit was to view the Zimbabwe Corner set up on campus with a replica of camping site in Victoria Falls and also showcasing the “Great Zimbabwe” UNESCO World Heritage site.<\/p>

HKMU LiPACE has signed an MOU with the Consulate General of Zimbabwe in HK in March this year to promote academic and cultural exchanges between the two places. Previously, the two sides collaborated on a cultural activity to introduce Zimbabwe’s culture, tourism and food to LiPACE students in October 2024. The said internationalization-at-home learning experience was well received by students and which led to the setting up of the Zimbabwe Corner to allow the fervour to settle in. Dean of LiPACE Dr. Benjamin Chan expressed his optimism about the next phase of collaboration which would include both local and overseas elements. For example, after learning more about the natural wonders of Zimbabwe and its touristic attractions, LiPACE students in tourism and hospitality could help promote this foreign country to the HK audience in local fairs\/exhibitions.<\/p>

In the discussion are plans for LiPACE students to go on study visits to Zimbabwe’s capital Harare and its second city Bulawayo. “Both LiPACE and the Harare Polytechnic are members of the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics and that’s where the connection can be traced”, said Dean Chan. Zimbabwe’s higher vocational education system shares many similarities with Hong Kong especially in the award of Higher Diplomas with option to articulate later to an applied degree (Bachelor of Technology). There are several areas which students in LiPACE’s health and molecular testing can benefit through a study trip such as applied genetic testing, plant related biotechnology applications, etc. Certainly, for students to be able to see in person the mighty force of the Victoria Falls can be a once in a life-time experience not to be missed out. The planned study visit can provide a valuable outward exchange opportunity under the backdrop of the “Belt and Road” initiative where young people clearly have a stake for their future.<\/p>

\u6d25\u5df4\u5e03\u97cb\u5916\u4ea4\u8207\u570b\u969b\u8cbf\u6613\u90e8\u90e8\u9577\u963f\u8499\u00b7\u7a46\u723e\u7dad\u62c9\uff08Professor Dr. Amon Murwira\uff09\u7387\u9818\u7684\u4ee3\u8868\u5718\uff0c\u65bc\u4eca\u5929\u5230\u8a2a\u9999\u6e2f\u90fd\u6703\u5927\u5b78\u674e\u5609\u8aa0\u5c08\u696d\u9032\u4fee\u5b78\u9662 \uff08HKMU LiPACE\uff09\u3002\u96a8\u884c\u51fa\u5e2d\u7684\u6210\u54e1\u5305\u62ec\u6d25\u5df4\u5e03\u97cb\u99d0\u4e2d\u570b\u5927\u4f7f\u963f\u6bd4\u84cb\u723e\u00b7\u7d39\u5c3c\u74e6\uff08Abigail Shoniwa\uff09\u4ee5\u53ca\u6d25\u5df4\u5e03\u97cb\u99d0\u9999\u6e2f\u7e3d\u9818\u4e8bEllias Mutamba\u5148\u751f\u3002\u4ee3\u8868\u5718\u7531\u9999\u6e2f\u90fd\u6703\u5927\u5b78\u6821\u9577\u6797\u7fa4\u8072\u6559\u6388\u3001\u5b78\u8853\u526f\u6821\u9577\u95dc\u6e05\u5e73\u6559\u6388\u4ee5\u53ca\u674e\u5609\u8aa0\u5c08\u696d\u9032\u4fee\u5b78\u9662\u9662\u9577\u66fe\u5fb7\u6e90\u535a\u58eb\u63a5\u5f85\u3002\u6b64\u6b21\u4f86\u8a2a\u7684\u4e00\u5927\u4eae\u9ede\u662f\u53c3\u89c0\u9999\u6e2f\u90fd\u6703\u5927\u5b78\u674e\u5609\u8aa0\u5c08\u696d\u9032\u4fee\u5b78\u9662\u4f4d\u65bc\u8475\u8208\u6821\u5712\u5167\u8a2d\u7acb\u7684\u6d25\u5df4\u5e03\u97cb\u5340\uff0c\u8a72\u5340\u4ee5\u6d25\u5df4\u5e03\u97cb\u7dad\u591a\u5229\u4e9e\u7011\u5e03\u7684\u71df\u5730\u70ba\u8a2d\u8a08\u539f\u578b\uff0c\u4e26\u5c55\u793a\u4e86\u806f\u5408\u570b\u6559\u79d1\u6587\u7d44\u7e54\u4e16\u754c\u907a\u7522\u300c\u5927\u6d25\u5df4\u5e03\u97cb\u907a\u5740\u300d\uff08Great Zimbabwe\uff09\u3002<\/p>

\u9999\u6e2f\u90fd\u6703\u5927\u5b78\u674e\u5609\u8aa0\u5c08\u696d\u9032\u4fee\u5b78\u9662\u65bc\u4eca\u5e743\u6708\u8207\u6d25\u5df4\u5e03\u97cb\u99d0\u6e2f\u7e3d\u9818\u4e8b\u9928\u7c3d\u7f72\u4e86\u4e00\u4efd\u5408\u4f5c\u5099\u5fd8\u9304\uff08MOU\uff09\uff0c\u4ee5\u4fc3\u9032\u5169\u5730\u4e4b\u9593\u7684\u5b78\u8853\u8207\u6587\u5316\u4ea4\u6d41\u3002\u6b64\u524d\uff0c\u96d9\u65b9\u65bc2024\u5e7410\u6708\u5408\u8fa6\u4e86\u4e00\u5834\u300c\u5728\u5730\u570b\u969b\u5316\u300d\u7684\u6587\u5316\u9ad4\u9a57\u6d3b\u52d5\uff0c\u5411\u5b78\u751f\u5c55\u793a\u4e86\u6d25\u5df4\u5e03\u97cb\u7684\u6587\u5316\u3001\u65c5\u904a\u53ca\u7f8e\u98df\u3002\u9019\u6b21\u5b78\u7fd2\u9ad4\u9a57\u6df1\u53d7\u5b78\u751f\u6b61\u8fce\uff0c\u4e26\u4fc3\u6210\u4e86\u5176\u5f8c\u6d25\u5df4\u5e03\u97cb\u5340\u7684\u8a2d\u7acb\uff0c\u8b93\u5b78\u7fd2\u7684\u71b1\u60c5\u5f97\u4ee5\u5ef6\u7e8c\u3002\u674e\u5609\u8aa0\u5c08\u696d\u9032\u4fee\u5b78\u9662\u9662\u9577\u66fe\u5fb7\u6e90\u535a\u58eb\u8868\u793a\uff0c\u5c0d\u96d9\u65b9\u4e0b\u4e00\u968e\u6bb5\u7684\u5408\u4f5c\u5145\u6eff\u671f\u5f85\uff0c\u672a\u4f86\u7684\u5408\u4f5c\u5c07\u7d50\u5408\u672c\u5730\u53ca\u6d77\u5916\u5143\u7d20\uff0c\u4f8b\u5982\u65bc\u5b78\u9662\u5c31\u8b80\u65c5\u904a\u53ca\u6b3e\u5f85\u696d\u7684\u5b78\u751f\uff0c\u65bc\u6df1\u5165\u4e86\u89e3\u6d25\u5df4\u5e03\u97cb\u7684\u81ea\u7136\u5947\u89c0\u548c\u65c5\u904a\u666f\u9ede\u5f8c\uff0c\u53ef\u4ee5\u5728\u672c\u5730\u7684\u5c55\u89bd\u6216\u535a\u89bd\u6d3b\u52d5\u4e2d\u5411\u9999\u6e2f\u5e02\u6c11\u4ecb\u7d39\u53ca\u63a8\u5ee3\u9019\u500b\u570b\u5bb6\u3002<\/p>

\u96d9\u65b9\u65bc\u5230\u8a2a\u671f\u9593\u8a0e\u8ad6\u4e86\u5b89\u6392\u674e\u5609\u8aa0\u5c08\u696d\u9032\u4fee\u5b78\u9662\u5b78\u751f\u524d\u5f80\u6d25\u5df4\u5e03\u97cb\u9996\u90fd\u54c8\u62c9\u96f7\uff08Harare\uff09\u53ca\u7b2c\u4e8c\u5927\u57ce\u5e02\u5e03\u62c9\u74e6\u7d04\uff08Bulawayo\uff09\u9032\u884c\u5b78\u7fd2\u4ea4\u6d41\u7684\u8a08\u5283\u3002\u66fe\u9662\u9577\u8868\u793a\uff1a\u300c\u674e\u5609\u8aa0\u5c08\u696d\u9032\u4fee\u5b78\u9662\u8207\u54c8\u62c9\u96f7\u7406\u5de5\u5b78\u9662\uff08Harare Polytechnic\uff09\u540c\u70ba\u4e16\u754c\u8077\u696d\u5b78\u9662\u8207\u7406\u5de5\u5b78\u9662\u806f\u76df\uff08World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics\uff09\u7684\u6210\u54e1\uff0c\u9019\u6b63\u662f\u96d9\u65b9\u5efa\u7acb\u806f\u7e6b\u7684\u57fa\u790e\u3002\u300d\u6d25\u5df4\u5e03\u97cb\u7684\u9ad8\u7b49\u8077\u696d\u6559\u80b2\u9ad4\u7cfb\u8207\u9999\u6e2f\u6709\u8a31\u591a\u76f8\u4f3c\u4e4b\u8655\uff0c\u7279\u5225\u662f\u5728\u9ad8\u7d1a\u6587\u6191\u9812\u6388\u53ca\u5176\u5f8c\u929c\u63a5\u61c9\u7528\uff08\u79d1\u6280\u5b78\u58eb\uff09\u5b78\u4f4d\u65b9\u9762\u3002\u65bc\u5b78\u9662\u5c31\u8b2e\u5065\u5eb7\u8207\u5206\u5b50\u6aa2\u6e2c\u9ad8\u7d1a\u6587\u6191\u7684\u5b78\u751f\u901a\u904e\u9019\u4e9b\u4ea4\u6d41\u5b78\u7fd2\uff0c\u5728\u61c9\u7528\u57fa\u56e0\u6aa2\u6e2c\u3001\u690d\u7269\u76f8\u95dc\u751f\u7269\u6280\u8853\u61c9\u7528\u7b49\u9818\u57df\u5c07\u6703\u7372\u76ca\u532a\u6dfa\u3002\u6b64\u5916\uff0c\u6709\u6a5f\u6703\u89aa\u773c\u76ee\u7779\u7dad\u591a\u5229\u4e9e\u7011\u5e03\u7684\u58ef\u9e97\u666f\u8c61\uff0c\u5c0d\u5b78\u751f\u4f86\u8aaa\u7121\u7591\u662f\u4e00\u751f\u96e3\u5f97\u7684\u9ad4\u9a57\u3002\u9019\u6b21\u8a08\u5283\u4e2d\u7684\u6d77\u5916\u4ea4\u6d41\uff0c\u5c07\u70ba\u5b78\u751f\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e00\u500b\u5bf6\u8cb4\u7684\u5b78\u7fd2\u6a5f\u6703\uff0c\u4e26\u5728\u300c\u4e00\u5e36\u4e00\u8def\u300d\u5021\u8b70\u7684\u80cc\u666f\u4e0b\uff0c\u8b93\u5e74\u8f15\u4eba\u70ba\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u672a\u4f86\u5960\u5b9a\u57fa\u790e\u3002<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
