About Remote Access<\/h2>\n\n

On account of network security, network connections to HKMU are protected by firewalls. Remote connections from public network (the Internet) are not allowed and will be blocked by firewalls. However,\u00a0for<\/strong>special or urgent support cases<\/strong>, it needs to allow staff to connect to HKMU systems out of campus remotely.\u00a0 ITO provides a SSL-VPN channel for staff remote access.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

SSL-VPN account<\/h2>\n\n

To login SSL-VPN website, please input SSL-VPN account name and password as well as a token-code<\/strong>.\u00a0The format of the SSL-VPN account is:\u00a0 \u201cvpn_\u201d + Staff Account Name(e.g. Staff Account Name is \u201ctester\u201d, the SSL-VPN account will be \u201cvpn_tester\u201d)\u00a0The SSL-VPN password is specific for your SSL-VPN account to login and it will assign randomly.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Token-Code<\/h2>\n\n

Two-factor authentication password is required to login SSL-VPN website.\u00a0 Staff is required to setup the \u201cFortiToken Mobile\u201d App in a mobile phone. The \u201cFortiToken Mobile\u201d App will be used to generate a running password (token-code) to login the SSL-VPN website. The App can be installed from Google Play and Apple Store.<\/p>\n\n
