Companies offering products \/ services based on HKMU's intellectual property and \/ or aligned with HKMU's strategic goals will also have an advantage.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"has_eae_slider wavo-column-gap-default elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-b1abfe7 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"b1abfe7\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;jet_parallax_layout_list&quot;:[]}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"has_eae_slider elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-bd94dac\" data-id=\"bd94dac\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f12fb8c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f12fb8c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><strong>3. <\/strong><strong><u>Mandatory Admission Criteria<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/h3><ol><li>The applicant must be a limited liability company incorporated under the HKSAR Companies Ordinance for normally not more than ten years as of the date of application.<\/li><li>The management team of the applicant must consist of a Person-in-Charge (PIC) who is associated with HKMU in the following capacity at the time of application:<ul><li>full-time or part-time HKMU student who have already obtained <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">at least 15 credits<\/span> for their study programmes as of the date of application;<\/li><li>full-time or part-time HKMU academic or R&amp;D staff; or<\/li><li>HKMU alumna \/ alumnus who has graduated for normally not more than ten years. Alumna \/ alumnus who has graduated for more than ten years with solid business or entrepreneurship experience may also be considered.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>The PIC shall represent the applicant in liaising with HKMURDC in respect of the Angel Fund Programme application. The PIC must be <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a founder<\/span> of the applicant, actively involved in the applicant's management, operations and development and maintain a significant ownership, such as holding at least 20% of the total issued share capital of the applicant.<\/li><li>The PIC \/ and other core team member(s) of the applicant should not be associated (whether by way of share ownership, cooperation arrangement, management role, advisory role or otherwise) with other applicants, unless otherwise approved by HKMURDC. Full disclosure should be made in respect of the interest of any full-time or part-time HKMU staff in the applicant.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"has_eae_slider wavo-column-gap-default elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-6009cb1 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"6009cb1\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;jet_parallax_layout_list&quot;:[]}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"has_eae_slider elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-54af2b2\" data-id=\"54af2b2\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-409a2ce elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"409a2ce\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><strong>4. <u>Funding Arrangements<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/h3><p>Upon approval, an investment of up to HK$1 million may be made in an appropriate format, which includes, but is not limited to, a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE).<\/p><p>The investment amount allocated to each selected startup may vary based on the recommendations provided by the selection panel. HKMURDC reserves the right to make the ultimate decision on funding amount and support provided.<\/p><p>The startup company shall apply the investment for:<\/p><ul><li>operating expenses such as staffing, training, rental, management fees, legal services, accounting services, and other daily office expenses;<\/li><li>expenditures directly related to the development, implementation, marketing, and commercialisation of the proposed products and \/ or services; and<\/li><li>essential office equipment.<\/li><\/ul><p>The investment fund must not be used to pay off any of the debts of the startup company. The panel, comprising representatives from HKMU and experienced professionals from various industries, will evaluate the teams based on their presentations and any supporting materials. These evaluations will inform the final investment decisions.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Interview Process<\/span><\/p><p>The Selection Panel will evaluate the proposals using the following criteria:<\/p><ol><li>Innovation and creativity;<\/li><li>Business model and commercial viability;<\/li><li>Team composition and strengths;<\/li><li>Stage of development (e.g. research and development, prototyping, commercialisation stage); and<\/li><li>Potential impact on industry and society.<\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Due Diligence<\/span><\/p><p>All selected applicants must provide full disclosure and actively collaborate to facilitate thorough due diligence.
