School of Education and Languages and Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital Establish \u201cMaster's Practicum Base\u201d <\/h3>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The School of Education and Languages is\u00a0dedicated\u00a0to integrating academic research with professional practice and to actively expanding students' learning and training opportunities in\u00a0real-world\u00a0professional settings. To further strengthen the\u00a0connection\u00a0between academic\u00a0training and clinical practice, the\u00a0School\u00a0has recently\u00a0established\u00a0a formal partnership with Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital. Upon the signing of a cooperation agreement, both parties\u00a0have\u00a0jointly\u00a0established\u00a0a \u201cMaster's Practicum Base\u201d to provide a structured and professionally oriented clinical\u00a0training\u00a0platform for students enrolled in\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>Master of Science\u00a0programme\u00a0in Communication Sciences and Child Language Disorders (MSCCSCLDF)<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Recently, Professor Andy Chin, Dean of the School of Education and Languages,\u00a0Professor\u00a0Hintat\u00a0Cheung, Honorary Professor of the School of Education and Languages,\u00a0and\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Emily Ge, Programme Leader\u00a0of MSCCSCLDF,\u00a0visited Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital.\u00a0\u00a0During the visit, representatives from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on clinical practicum arrangements, professional training models, and\u00a0opportunities for\u00a0interdisciplinary collaboration for postgraduate students. By integrating academic knowledge, evidence-based practice, and extensive clinical experience, the collaboration aims to support\u00a0the MSCCSCLDF\u00a0students in developing essential competencies in clinical assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and parent\u00a0counselling, thereby strengthening their professional\u00a0expertise\u00a0and practical skills.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

This\u00a0partnership\u00a0has also enabled\u00a0the\u00a0School\u00a0to gain deeper insights into the latest practices and service needs related to maternal and child healthcare, as well as child language and communication development in\u00a0Chinese\u00a0Mainland.\u00a0These insights will\u00a0inform\u00a0the\u00a0ongoing\u00a0enhancement of curriculum design and the strengthening of practice-based teaching. Through close collaboration with clinical professional teams, the\u00a0School\u00a0seeks to promote the\u00a0translation\u00a0of academic research outcomes in clinical contexts, advance two-way exchange between academia and clinical\u00a0sector, and, through the establishment of the \u201cMaster's Practicum Base,\u201d nurture professionals\u00a0with\u00a0strong professional competence,\u00a0rich\u00a0practical experience, and a\u00a0keen\u00a0sense of social responsibility.\u00a0This initiative also\u00a0exemplifies HKMU's mission as a\u00a0University\u00a0of Applied Sciences\u00a0by deepening industry engagement, enhancing practice-oriented teaching, and strengthening the impact of its professional training on society.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
