Putonghua Class

The Language Center will introduce an Elementary Putonghua Class designed specifically for beginners in Putonghua in each term. Whether you have an interest in Putonghua or aim to improve your daily communication skills, this course is an opportunity you wouldn’t want to miss! We will immerse you in the realm of Putonghua, exploring various aspects of daily life through the language.

Course Features：

• Specifically designed for beginners.
• Suitable for non-Chinese speaking students (limited proficiency in listening and writing Chinese).
• Assisted with English.
• Course content covers everyday conversations, Putonghua phonics, basic vocabulary, and grammar usage.
• Small class size for online teaching, ensuring sufficient interaction and guidance for each student.
• Upon completion of the course, you will be able to communicate in simple Putonghua, enhancing your confidence in using the language.

Course Details:

• Consists of eight lessons
• One lesson per week, each lesson lasts for 1.5 hours

Course Format：

• Online Zoom classes (students are required to have their webcam on during class for better interaction with the teacher)
• Learning materials will be provided on the OLE platform
• Taught in Cantonese and Putonghua (assisted with English)

Application details:

• Class quota: 30 (first-come-first-served)
• Eligibility: HKMU full-time students
• Pay $500 deposit online (to be refunded to learners having attended 80% or above of the whole class)
• The qualified students will receive a promotion email from the Language Centre at the beginning of the term. The email will contain the class schedule and application link
