Ten A-Team students participated in the ACCA Community Day 2026 organised by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) on 25 January 2026 at the Chater Road Sunday Pedestrian Zone in Central. The students showcased their creativity and team spirit in the Rickshaw Race, winning the Champion in Rickshaw Race for Tertiary Cup and Champion in Best Cheering Team Award. Four students from the BBA (Hons) in Professional Accounting programme were honored with scholarships from the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA). Two Year 4 students received the QP Scholarships, which grant full exemption from all QP exam fees, in recognition of their academic excellence and to support their journey toward the QP accountancy qualification. Additionally, two Year 3 students were awarded HKICPA Scholarships, each valued at HKD 6,000, in acknowledgment of their exceptional academic performance. LO Chi Ching Crystal, an A-Team student and 2025 graduate from the Bachelor of Sports and Recreation Management with Honours, was honoured with this year's Outstanding Tertiary Students Award of Hong Kong. This marks the first time an HKMU student has received this award. She was presented with a cash prize of HKD 10,000 in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments. Our team, \u201cMU B&A Golden Z,\u201d achieved remarkable success, winning the Champion and Most Popular Entry on Instagram in the Higher Education Category at the Safe Spaces for All: Anti-Sexual Harassment 60-Second Video Contest 2025. Organised by the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC), the competition aims to promote public awareness and education about creating a sexual harassment-free environment. The Community Chest Corporate Challenge took place on 12 January 2025 at Sai Kung Pak Tam Chung Country Park, with the award presentation ceremony held on 30 April 2025 to honor the outstanding efforts of all participants. The event featured a Half Marathon and 10K Run, drawing nearly 750 runners across more than 90 corporate teams, all united in support of a charitable cause. A team of four business students won the first runner-up in the Future HR Talents Hackathon, organised by the HKMA Human Capital Management Society. By analysing a real-life human resources case, the students identified the challenges facing a company and offered a unique, effective and innovative solution. Their outstanding performance earned them the first runner-up position in the competition. They were also given a cash prize and a job-shadowing experience.<\/p>

The competition aims to enhance the students' problem-solving ability and practical experience by applying theoretical knowledge in simulated real-life situations. A team of four business students won the first runner-up title in the HKGCC Business Case Competition 2024\/25, organised by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC). They were rewarded with a cash prize of HK$20,000 and one-year HKGCC student associate memberships.<\/p>

The theme of the competition was \u201cShaping the Future of Businesses with Creativity and Innovation\u201d. The team selected a business case that highlights the significance of the HKGCC in fostering an agile and environmentally sustainable workplace. The contestants were required to submit proposals for creating a flexible and agile workspace, implementing sustainable practices and enhancing employee wellbeing.<\/p>

A team of four Master of Professional Management in Global Business and Marketing students claimed the championship in a case competition focused on rural revitalisation, co-organised by CPA Australia and Tencent. The winning team includes Lai Sisi, Huang Junyi, Kam Yuen Fan and Wang Ziming. Notably, Huang Junyi was recognised as the Best Presenter.<\/p>

The other 3 finalists were teams from the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Heilongjiang University and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. After rounds of review, the HKMU team stood out with their proposed solutions to rural financial management problems, winning the championship.<\/p>

As champions, the winning students will be awarded a cash prize of RMB12,000, scholarships and fee remission for the CPA Programme Exam. Additionally, they will have a valuable internship opportunity at Tencent. Professional accounting fresh graduates Frank Mao Haoyu and Jessie Liu Jiayang were each presented with a Qualification Programme (QP) Scholarship by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) at the QP Top Student Award and Scholarship Presentation Ceremony for the December 2022 and June 2023 Sessions. The QP Scholarships are awarded to final-year accounting students with excellent academic performance, encouraging them to pursue an internally recognised accountancy qualification. Every year, a maximum of 20 scholarships are handed out to undergraduate students all over Hong Kong.<\/p>

B&A students teamed up for the “Cyberport University Partnership Programme (CUPP) 2023”. Their team, “WILD”, is honoured to be one of 10 winning teams. They won a funding of HK$100,000 from Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (CCMF), which would help the team realise their entrepreneurship dream.<\/p>

This year, the 20 CUPP finalist teams were formed by 66 students from 9 local universities. Each team had to submit a FinTech-related business proposal. Competing against nine teams from six local universities, a team of four HKMU students is selected as one of the two winning teams in the \u201cSwire Properties Placemaking Academy 2023\u201d with their creative proposal for the \u201cWhite Christmas Street Fair\u201d.<\/p>

During the Academy's final judging session, the HKMU team impressed the judges with their abilities, professionalism, creativity and working intensity during a 7-minute presentation and a challenging Q&A session.<\/p>

Taking place at Taikoo Place every December, the \u201cWhite Christmas Street Fair\u201d is an annual signature festive event curated by Swire Properties. A team of four B&A students stood out from nine local university teams and won the 2nd runner-up in the \u201cHSBC\/HKU Hong Kong Business Case Competition 2023\u201d. The competition challenged finalists to formulate a marketing proposal for a Hong Kong-based tourbillion watch company within three hours, followed by a presentation and Q&A session from judges. The excellent analytical and planning skills as well as outstanding presentation and answering techniques of the HKMU team were recognised by the judges. A team of four Year 3 and 4 students from HKMU Professional Accounting programme participated in the 6th<\/sup>\u00a0Tax Debate Competition 2022 organized by the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong. In the preliminary round held in late May, HKMU team debated with teams from other local institutions in Hong Kong on the taxation topic set by the Institute. HKMU representatives entered the final round held on 6 May and won the second runner-up prize and Best Team Spirit Award with their sound taxation knowledge, convincing arguments and good team spirit.<\/p>

Four HKMU business administration students teamed up to participate in the “HSBC\/HKU Hong Kong Business Case Competition 2022”. With their innovative ideas, excellent presentation skills and outstanding case analysis, the HKMU team stood out among the nine teams from other local universities and won the second runner-up.\u00a0<\/p>

The HSBC\/HKU Hong Kong Business Case Competition aims to nurture future business leaders by enhancing university students' business skills and global perspectives. In the final round, participating teams were required to propose an appropriate strategy for a local education technology company to expand into the Indonesian market. Three students of the Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration and a student of the School of Science and Technology from HKMU formed a team 'Finvictus' to join the 'Cyberport University Partnership Programme (CUPP) 2021-2022'. After rounds of interview, the team was successfully admitted to the second stage of the Programme and presented their idea on the Demo Day held in February. Participating teams were expected to build FinTech projects with components in AI, Blockchain and Cybersecurity. They were required to submit a proposal to help an international logistics company reduce carbon emission. After rounds of selection, the team stood out from other tertiary teams and was selected as one of the three finalists. They finally won the first runner-up, which comes with a prize of HKD 20,000, a summer internship interview opportunity, and a one-year HKGCC Student Associate Membership.

A team of four students in the Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours in Professional Accounting won the first runner-up in the Greater Bay Area Taxation Competition. Four business students formed a team to compete in the HSBC\/HKU Hong Kong Business Case Competition. With their excellent case analysis, outstanding presentation skills, as well as the ability to face intense questioning from the judges, the team outperformed the nine local universities and won the championship in the final round of the competition on 10 March 2021. The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis. Students are required to work in teams to research and analyze a publicly traded company and then write a research report on the assigned company with a buy, sell, or hold recommendation.<\/span><\/p>

The “Dare to Change Business Pitch Competition” required participating teams to conduct a five-minute pitch of their business ideas to the judging panel. Among the 150 teams, two OU teams successfully entered the final round and were awarded a Certificate of Excellence together with nine other finalists. One of the teams \u201cJobegin\u201d, even won “The Best Young Startup Award” and a cash prize of $15,000 with their outstanding presentation skills and innovative business ideas.
