\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Tin Ka Ping Centre of Chinese Culture of the School of Arts and Social Sciences at Hong Kong Metropolitan University has partnered with Shanghai University, Shanghai Normal University, Northwest University, Wenzhou University, and East China Normal University (listed in order of the number of strokes in their Chinese names) to launch the first “Creative Writing Youth Camp 2025”. The camp aims to foster two-way exchange between students from Hong Kong and the Mainland, promote the development of creative writing as a discipline, and innovate teaching methodologies. By leveraging the cultural resources of different cities, the program enriches participants’ theoretical learning and creative practice.\n

\nThe inaugural camp was held from 6th to 11th August this year, with 20 participants from Hong Kong Metropolitan University and the aforementioned institutions. Over the six-day programme, a total of ten activities were organized, including guest seminars, a campus tour, literary walks, visits to local art venues, a creative writing workshop, a manuscript revision session, and a final presentation event. Through these diverse activities, participants engaged in learning and interaction.\n

\nOn the final day of the camp, participants attended the closing presentation event, where Dr. Leung Mo-ling Rebecca, Associate Dean (Administration and Development) of the School of Arts and Social Sciences and Director of the Tin Ka Ping Centre of Chinese Culture at Hong Kong Metropolitan University, awarded them certificates of completion. During the event, participants showcased the outcomes of their learning and creative work over the past six days.
