Experience the French Way of Life: Film, Literature and Music<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0<\/div>
The project ‘Experience the French Way of Life: Film, Literature and Music<\/a>‘ aims to celebrate French arts, philosophy and lifestyle through looking into several selected films that represent French culture. It covers two parts: on 4 May 2017, three pre-conference lectures on French film, literature and music will be given in Cantonese.<\/span><\/span><\/div>

On 1 June 2017, a film screening\u00a0<\/span>will be held in the Research Institute for Digital Culture and Humanities Conferences 2017 on 1 June 2017 (Thursday). <\/span>Mark Osborne's The Little Prince<\/em><\/span>\u00a0(2015),\u00a0a digital animated film adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exup\u00e9ry's world-famous and well-loved children's book, will be shown, followed by a post-screening audience discussion (in English).<\/span><\/span><\/div>

Dr. TSO Wing Bo, Anna\u00a0<\/strong>
Dr. Anna W. B. Tso is Associate Professor of English and Comparative Literature in the School of Arts and Social Sciences, the Open University of Hong Kong. She is also the Director of the Digital Humanities Research Centre under the Research Institute for Digital Culture and Humanities (RIDCH). She received her PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham, and has published extensively on children's literature, linguistics, gender studies, and translation studies. Her recent books include\u00a0<\/span>Teaching Shakespeare to ESL Students: The Study of Language Arts in Four Major Plays\u00a0<\/em>(Springer, 2016), and\u00a0<\/span>Academic Writing for Arts and Humanities Students<\/em>\u00a0(McGraw-Hill, 2016). Currently, she is working on a funded children's book series project about Hong Kong memories. She is also the principal investigator of a government-funded research on academic literacy development.<\/span><\/td><\/tr>

Ms. LAU Man Ying, Janet<\/strong>
Ms Janet Lau Man-ying, Senior Lecturer at the Open University of Hong Kong. Ms Lau obtained her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Brighton, UK and received an MA Degree in Design at the Polytechnic University and an MSC Degree in Marketing at The Chinese University of Hong Kong respectively. Prior to joining the University, she has worked at various local and international creative agencies, organisations and the Government of HKSAR. Her research interests include the creative and cultural industries, digitalisation, advertising and branding development.<\/span><\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>
