Conference on Digital Culture 2015\u00a0
Theme: Animation Techniques and the Digital Art<\/span><\/b><\/h3><\/div>
Images have been playing an ever growing important role in human communication and cultural representation since the pre-historic age. From pre-historic cave paintings to Chinese ideograms, calligraphy, and recent digital imaging, images in different forms, particularly animation and digital art, carry new meanings through cultural artifacts and bring new sensibilities. The rise of digital culture in recent decades has been attributed to the maturity and wider application of digital technology in cultural production and consumption in line with the increasing demand for digital media images. Digital culture and imaging have also\u00a0<\/span>changed popular imagination and challenged traditional modes of seeing and thinking. The theme of digital imaging and representations of this conference aims to provide a platform for exchanging fresh views on theoretical and empirical issues related to digital art forms due to the use of digital imaging techniques such as animation techniques in digital paintings. It also encourages discussions on the impacts of digital imaging on society and people in Greater China and the World. We aim to establish links between academics, researchers, artists, and industry practitioners in the hope of fostering cultural practices and research in the fields of creative arts and cultural industries.<\/div>

The Conference on Digital Culture\u00a0will address a wide range of topics including, but not limited to, the following areas:<\/strong><\/div>
  • Animation techniques and digital art;<\/li>
  • Surrealism in 4D;<\/li>
  • The digitization of Chinese paintings;<\/li>
  • Digital Chinese ink in contemporary art;<\/li>
  • Image mapping and projection technologies;<\/li>
  • Digital visualization, presentation, and realization;<\/li>
  • Digital image production and consumption; and<\/li>
