A conference titled \u201cInternational Conference on Housing and Ageing Policies: Global and China Perspectives\u201d was held on 23 and 24 June 2021 in hybrid mode.\u00a0 The Conference, consisting of three keynote speeches, two plenary sessions and four parallel sessions, provided a platform for academics and researchers to share research findings and exchange views on housing and ageing issues, with an aim to inform policy-making and analysis. About 85 local and overseas attendees joined the Conference.<\/p>

Dr Raymond So, BBS, JP, Under Secretary for Transport and Housing, The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, was invited as the Guest of Honour and delivered a speech in the Opening Ceremony of the Conference.<\/p>

The three keynote speeches of the Conference were:<\/p>

  • Population Ageing and Community Based Old-age Care Services in China<\/em> \u2013 delivered by Professor Bingqin Li, Professor and Director of the Chinese Social Policy Stream, The University of New South Wales;<\/li>
  • Shifting Approaches to Housing Wealth and Welfare Security in Ageing Societies<\/em> \u2013 delivered by Professor Richard Ronald, Professor of Housing, Society and Space, University of Amsterdam; and<\/li>
  • The Challenges of Ageing and How to Respond to Them<\/em> \u2013 delivered by Professor Alan Walker, Professor of Social Policy and Social Gerontology, The University of Sheffield.<\/li><\/ul>
