Over the past three decades, the School of Arts and Social Sciences (A&SS) has developed into one of the largest Schools in the University, in terms of student numbers, staff size and programmes offered.\u00a0 Currently, A&SS is providing quality education to around 2,500 full-time undergraduate students, more than 400 taught\/research postgraduate students, and around 1,600 part-time students.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Academic diversity is the unique signature of A&SS. The School embraces three distinct yet correlated broad academic disciplines housed under the three departments of\u00a0Creative Arts<\/span><\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Humanities, Language and Translation<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, and\u00a0Social Sciences<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We offers 15 full-time undergraduate programmes<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, 7\u00a0taught postgraduate programmes<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, and 9\u00a0part-time undergraduate & sub-degree programmes<\/a><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0in diverse disciplines as Creative Media, Creative Writing, Language, Literature, Public Administration, Psychology and Mental Health, and Translation, to name a few.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The School strives to focus on applied research with teaching, cultural, social and policy impact under its strategic research areas in Creative Writing and Creative Arts, Digital Humanities and Literature, and Public and Social Policy.<\/p>

The Research Institute for Digital Culture and Humanities<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, Public and Social Policy Research Centre<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, and the Tin Ka Ping Centre of Chinese Culture<\/a><\/span><\/strong> serves as a hub for a pool of active researchers in the School to conduct research projects and activities in specific disciplines, as well as inter-disciplinary areas.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
