In an effort to foster collaboration in the academic publishing realm, A&SS, in collaboration with the HKMU Library, organized a highly informative Sharing Session on January 25th, 2024. The event featured esteemed guest speakers, Ms. Floor Oosting, Editorial Director, and Ms. Alex Campbell, Senior Editor from Springer Nature. School members were treated to a thought-provoking presentation by Ms. Oosting and Ms. Campbell, covering a wide range of topics related to book publishing in the humanities, arts, and social sciences.<\/strong><\/h5>\n
During the first hour of the session, the speakers delved into the intricacies of the research and academic publishing landscape, with a particular emphasis on the Asian context and the Open Access market. School members were enlightened about the different publishing models and gained valuable insights into submitting a book proposal. Following the engaging presentation, School members had the opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions about their own work with Ms. Oosting and Ms. Campbell.
