The University's latest campus extension, the Jockey Club Institute of Healthcare (IOH), confirmed its green credentials with its receipt of a BEAM Plus Platinum rating from the Hong Kong Green Building Council this month. In a new mentorship programme launched this year by the Student Affairs Office in association with the Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council, HKMU students got to 'Date a CEO, Be a CEO'. Setup of support centre for Hospital Authority's COVID-19 hotline<\/p>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The severe COVID-19 outbreak of early 2022 placed huge pressure on the Hospital Authority's support hotline. In response, HKMU set up a hotline support centre of 10 lines staffed by around 130 staff and student volunteers from the School of Nursing and Health Studies, providing healthcare information and referrals to the public.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Though April is not technically summer, the school closures brought about by the pandemic outbreak prompted the Student Affairs Office to organise a Kids@HKMU Summer Camp for stay-at-home children who were officially on their early summer holiday break this month. Release of research findings on 'Admitting Ethnic Minority Kindergarteners: Overcoming Challenges and Identifying Opportunities'<\/p>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

HKMU's School of Education and Languages and the Hong Kong Child-rity Association (HKCRA) released an important study on the effectiveness of a new government subsidy to encourage wider admittance of ethnic minority children into Hong Kong kindergartens. The study, which attracted a high participation rate from kindergartens, showed that the scheme was proving successful but that many kindergartens were struggling to find the human resources to serve ethnic minority students fully.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

LiPACE celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2022. The School began a series of celebratory events back in March 2021, and its tenth and final anniversary Academic Forum \u2014 'Future Skills: Which Skills and How to Deliver them?' \u2014 addressed the School's commitment to equipping its graduates with future skills and ensuring their career readiness. HKMU's Public and Social Policy Research Centre, under the School of Arts and Social Sciences, released new findings based on its respected HOS Index, which tracks price trends in the Home Ownership secondary market.
