1. When did the new title take effect?<\/span><\/i><\/div>

The Legislative Council has adopted the 'The Open University of Hong Kong (Amendment) Bill 2021', and the new title 'Hong Kong Metropolitan University' (\u9999\u6e2f\u90fd\u6703\u5927\u5b78) has taken effect on 1 September 2021.<\/p><\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

2. Which title are the graduation certificates of 2021 issued under?<\/span><\/i><\/div>

Certificates for qualifications conferred in April and August 2021 have been issued under the name of 'The Open University of Hong Kong', whereas those conferred in November 2021 will bear the new title of 'Hong Kong Metropolitan University'.<\/p><\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

3.\tWill the University re-issue certificates with the new title for graduates?<\/span><\/i><\/div>

The University has issued a generic certification document stating that The Open University of Hong Kong has been renamed as Hong Kong Metropolitan University. Graduates can pick up the document on campus or download it from MyHKMU<\/a> (graduates of August 2021 will be provided with a hardcopy of the generic document on collecting their certificates). Should you have any enquiries, please contact the Registry at 2768 6683 \/ 2768 6692.<\/p><\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

4. Will the Alumni Link card remain in use? <\/span><\/i><\/div>

The University has introduced a new alumni identity programme to replace the Alumni Link Scheme. The original Alumni Link Card and the letter of identification will expire on 31 December 2022. To facilitate campus access or enjoy on-campus privileges, you are required to present your alumni e-card.<\/p><\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

5. Can I still use the free email service @live.ouhk.edu.hk?<\/span><\/i><\/div>

Since 1 September 2021, the email domain has been changed to @live.hkmu.edu.hk, but addresses with @live.ouhk.edu.hk will remain effective until 31 December 2022. During the transition period, all emails delivered to @live.ouhk.edu.hk will be redirected to users' mailbox, while @live.hkmu.edu.hk will be set as the default user email address for outgoing emails. The login ID of existing accounts will remain as xxxx@live.ouhk.edu.hk until the user resets the password through the HKMU O365 page, at which it will be changed into xxxx@live.hkmu.edu.hk. All remaining login IDs will be updated to xxxx@live.hkmu.edu.hk on 31 December 2022.<\/p><\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

6. Where can I update my personal particulars after the retitling? <\/span><\/i><\/div>

With effect from 1 September 2021, the MyOUHK platform has been renamed as MyHKMU, located at www.hkmu.edu.hk\/myhkmu<\/a>. Alumni may also update their personal particulars on the alumni portal<\/a>.<\/p><\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

7. I am a monthly donor. Do I have to take any action to keep my monthly donations? <\/span><\/i><\/div>

The change of the University's bank account name will not affect transactions with the bank account. It will not be necessary for regular donors to take any action to keep their donations in place. However, donations by cheque should be made payable to Hong Kong Metropolitan University.<\/p><\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

8. My Library Reader's \/ Borrower's Ticket has yet to expire. Do I have to re-apply for it? <\/span><\/i><\/div>

Graduate holders of valid Library Reader's \/ Borrower's Tickets can continue to enjoy library services until their expiry. The University Library has issued an email announcement to ticket holders concerned on 1 September. For enquiries, please call 2768 6781. \u00a0<\/p><\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

9. Will I still receive the alumni newsletter?<\/span><\/i><\/div>

As in the past, the quarterly e-newsletter Alumni Linkage<\/em> will be delivered to your email registered, providing up-to-date news about the University. You are welcome to update your email address on the alumni portal<\/a>.<\/p><\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

10. Where can I look up news about the University's alumni affairs after retitling?<\/span><\/i><\/div>
