Working up from the ranks of the Administrative \r\nService, he was promoted to Assistant Director of the ICAC in 1976. After \r\nserving in the ICAC, he decided to leave Government Service for practice at the \r\nHong Kong Bar in 1979. He became a member of the California Bar in 1984. He was \r\nappointed Queen&#39;s Counsel (now retitled, Senior Counsel) in 1990.<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<tr>\r\n<td class=\"style65\" style=\"width: 5%;\" valign=\"top\">\r\n<p class=\"style50\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"max-width: 100%; height: auto;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hkmu.edu.hk\/PAO\/ball_grey.gif\" alt=\"ball_grey\" align=\"top\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"0\" \/><\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<td class=\"style65\" style=\"width: 95%;\" valign=\"top\">\r\n<p class=\"style50\">'China's largest e-commerce company Alibaba failed to obtain \r\nan exemption from the listing rules of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.'<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"style50\">&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"style50\">'The Court of Final Appeal declared that it is \r\nunconstitutional to deny social security to new immigrants.'
