Important notes
This course will be taught through a face-to-face postgraduate mode commencing in January 2021.

Students are required to do hands-on translation and in the process apply translation theories, translation skills and analytical skills acquired from this course and accumulated from other courses by making use of an extended piece of text.

Aims
The practicum aims to help students improve their translation skills through hands-on practices, individual presentations, thorough class analyses, discussions and exercises, complemented with one-on-one clinical sessions.

Contact hours
Normally one 3- to 3.5-hour lecture and one consultation hour per week, adding up to a total of 49 hours for the whole semester.

Assessment
Continuous assessment by assignments, class work and presentations. Students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
