Aims

The primary objective of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of leadership, integrating both foundational concepts and practical applications. To achieve this objective, an interdisciplinary approach is employed, with a particular emphasis on the management of individual–organisation contexts. The course addresses critical aspects such as the nature of management, team dynamics, and the management of change and innovations within established organisations.

Upon completion of the course, students will have acquired the necessary knowledge, practical skills, and proactive mindset required for effective organisational leadership. This course draws upon insights from both management and human resources theories and practices, offering a holistic body of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that equip students to become effective leaders in today's dynamic and ever-changing business environment.

Additionally, there is the potential to incorporate an overseas learning component into the course, providing students with a culturally immersive leadership experience. This could be achieved through the establishment of an Executive Leadership Accelerator Programme, facilitated by collaboration between HKMU B&A and accredited overseas universities, such as EHL Hospitality Business School in Switzerland. By exposing students to multicultural and diverse perspectives, this Executive Leadership Accelerator Programme aims to deepen their understanding of global business practices and opportunities, establish meaningful connections across geographical and cultural boundaries, and explore future potentials from a multicultural perspective.
