Li See-wai gets a twinkle in her eyes whenever she talks about mangroves. A little over one year after graduating from university, she became bored with her English teaching job. With her Form 3 level biology, she began studying the OUHK's Postgraduate Certificate in Environmental Science and Technology and proceeded to a Master's degree at the University of Hong Kong. She then began work at the butterfly reserve of an environmental group while continuing the research she had begun on mangroves. 'Among the three universities where I have studied, the time I spent at the OUHK was the happiest. It felt like home. Without the support of the teachers, fellow students and laboratory technicians there, I wouldn't have such a wonderful life now,' she said. |
